Why RETREAT?

In times of war the word RETREAT refers to armed forces withdrawing, stepping back, giving up.  Ironically even when we are not ‘at war’, RETREAT also describes a conscious decision to step back from the cut and thrust of our daily lives, to let go of the day to day pressures and struggles and surrender ourselves to whatever happening in the present moment.  When we retreat, for a day, a week, a month or even a year we give ourselves the space to re-connect with the still, small voice that whispers at the centre of our own being and step by step,  breath by breath we can come home, home to our bodies, home to our hearts and home to our selves one moment at a time.

Making time in a busy life to go on a retreat is one of the finest gifts we can give ourselves. A retreat is an investment in our health and in our personal relationship with ourselves.  It's an opportunity to pause and look at life from a new perspective and often unlock answers to the questions that we just may not take the time to ask.

The Rich Benefits of Going on Retreat

Making a retreat is a nurturing “time-out” just for you; a time to rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit; to re-connect with your authentic self; to re-connect with nature; to get quiet and be in a space of “being” rather than “doing.”

Teach me how to trust my heart, my intuition, the senses of my body, the blessings of my spirit. Teach me to trust these things so that I may enter my sacred space and love beyond my fear, and thus walk in balance with the passing of each glorious sun.
